1. Do I have to be Baptist to be involved with the BSM?
No. BSM is open to any UTPA Student.

2. Why is it called Baptist Student Ministry?
The term “Baptist” describes our history and heritage. It describes the churches, convention and institutions that provide the resources necessary for our ministry to exist. “Student Ministry” reflects who we’re about. We’re all about students!

 

3. Are there any BSM mission trips coming up?
Yes. We have missions opportunities throughout the year. All BSM students that qualify have an opportunity to participate. For more information click here

 

4. Are there any service opportunities?
Yes, every semester students seek opportunities to serve God by serving others. We also invite students to become BSM leaders. BSM leaders serve UTPA students by providing leadership to all BSM activities.

 

5. What is a Journey Group?
A Journey Group is a group of students committed to journeying together through their years at UTPA. Journey groups share life together!

 

6. How can I join a Journey Group?

7. Is your Thursday free lunch really free?
Yes, we do not charge. We do this because we want students to feel that the BSM cares for them. When you come, you will find the people and the environment to be friendly and encouraging.
